The third UK School Games closes in fitting style as Wales gears up for host the 2009 UK School Games.
After a marvelous three days of sporting sporting competition, the UK School Games was officially brought to a close at the University of Bath. In front of hundreds of competitors, volunteers and officials, Jill Douglas hosted the closing ceremony for what has been described as the best UK School Games ever.
The key highlights of the ceremony included a three minute wrap up video of all the sporting action from across the four venues in Bristol and Bath, a Q&A with UK School Games Ambassador Jason Gardener, fireworks and the flag handover. The flag handover was there to represent the responsibility of hosting the event being passed to Wales for the 2009 UK School Games.
Following the conclusion of the ceremony Steve Grainger, Chief Executive of the Youth Sport Trust said:
