The UKSG wants to ensure that not only do all participating athletes enjoy their experiences and perform well but they do so in a safe environment.
Working with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU), the UKSG has a welfare plan that is annually developed in order to reflect the needs and support given by the host city but that also;
• supports the sharing of best practice and education in safeguarding practice, and
• raises the standards in safeguarding practice and welfare planning for events across the sports sector.

Working with each of the sporting governing bodies, the welfare plan for 2008 is currently being finalised.
