Athletics

As the UK's finest elite young athletes descend on the North East of England today for the Sainsbury's UK School Games, more than 150 local schoolchildren honoured their arrival with a special dance performance.

The long awaited 2010 Sainsbury's UK School Games gets underway tomorrow morning in the North East of England with a launch event in Performance Square at The Sage with Olympic gold medallist Darren Campbell and Chief Executive of the Youth Sport Trust Steve Grainger. Spectators will be entertained by children from Gateshead, collectively known as Dance Bites, taking part in a contemporary dance performance inspired by the 10 sports represented in the Sainsbury's UK School Games.
